In Canada, there are only a very limited number of qualified Mohs surgeons at this stage, but that number is growing.

The health care system in Canada is run at the provincial level, and currently there are only a limited number of facilities where Mohs surgeons can practice at. For these reasons, in Canada, the waiting list for a Mohs Surgery procedure can be longer than some countries like the United States or Australia.

In these cases, if the patient has questions about their case, knowing that they won’t see the surgeon directly for several months, it’s important to continue communicating either with the referring physician or directly with the surgeon if it’s possible.
